Fuji should be applauded for their continual improvement of the X100, an all their X cameras, through firmware updates. Last week Fuji updated the now almost 3 years old since launched X100.  It wasn't just a small update either. They actually made substantial changes and vastly improved the overall functionality of the camera. Wow.  Bravo.

I hope Olympus, and all manufacturers for that matter, learn from this. This is how you keep customers. This is how you keep your product and your brand at the forefront of your customers mind. This is how you create loyalty.

I downloaded this firmware last night and experimented with this camera today. The firmware absolutely did improve the overall operational speed of the camera. That said, it is no match for the speed and agility of the Olympus OMD EM1.  I just can't get myself to get rid of the X100. I think that it will be part of my long term camera collection with occasional use alongside my EM1.

Update - In early November I finally sold my old X100 and replaced it with a new old camera from 2006, the Leica M8!
