I will start this post with the statement that I am absolutely smitten with the OMD EM1. While I loved my EM5, this is in a league of its own. I have not once shot my D700 since I received it and tomorrow the D700 and various Nikon lenses are going away. I am eliminating my options.

But, back to the EM1. It just does everything well. Here's how it has been living with me and here's how I've used it in the last few weeks.

I've been shooting my kids. Oh my how I love the rendering of the Oly 75mm f1.8

I take it everywhere and have been playing with the art filters. I like the grainy black and white in the snow.

I've been using it with my Zeiss M mount glass with lovely results. The focus peaking is a nice addition!

I've been shooting it in the morning on my walks.

I've been out in the crappy weather. I am so thankful it is weather sealed!

I've been shooting it on my bike rides at night with great results.

I've been shooting cycling events and action with it too! Love the PDAF autofocus and it's ability to use incredible 4/3rds like the Oly 50-200 SWD.

As you can see, it has earned it's place at my side and simply works in any and all conditions.  I mentioned earlier that my old standby Nikon system is heading south tomorrow.  In return, I may have ordered a very special 4/3 Olympus lens to add to my collection. I'll show you all next week when it arrives.

For those of you on the fence about the EM1, just buy it and use it everywhere. You won't be disappointed.
