After returning from Taiwan I had a tough decision to make (on my birthday no less). That is, to return the GX8 or buy the GX8? I went with the latter. These two things pushed me over the edge to buy.

First, I offloaded images and looked at them on a large monitor. I also spent time processing them. I know many review sites have posted there isn't much difference in the images compared to the current m43 16MP sensor.  I don't completely agree. There is not a big difference but for me, I do see a difference.  I really like the images. A lot.

Second, I mounted some adapted glass and the set up for manual focus is unmatched by any mirrorless on the market. Hold the viewfinder to your eye, used your thumb on the touch screen to position your magnification box, remove your thumb from the touch screen and the magnification box automatically appears, focus and snap. Seriously it is truly an incredible focusing experience.

So.....My m43 kit now consists of EM1 for events & sports with pro zooms, the GX8 for my primes and manual lenses and the GM5 for ultra compact.

Now I better start saving for the Panasonic 15 f1.7 and 42.5 f1.2 premium primes with aperture rings and beautiful glass to compliment and further define my GX8 shooting experience.

I took this photo very late at night on my last night in Taiwan after an amazing dinner party with 60+ guests. I may have had too much whisky too. Sorry the "birthday" is out of focus and I did not use the right depth of field......

More to come on the GX8.
