As I look over the historical posts and the traffic on this site, my number one posts of all time are comparing the Fuji XT1 to the Olympus OMD EM1. Over the last 3 years since those cameras have been out, I went back and forth between the two and often had two systems.

Today I find myself in the exact same spot. As I ponder my trip to Iceland in January 2017, I am really looking for a small and really capable kit. Which camera do I want to buy and why? In all honesty, I have been quiet here on this blog as I have been testing a Fuji XT2 and thinking about the new EM1 Mark ii. Given I can't really shoot them side by side for at least another month, all I can do is dream and speculate.

Here is a link to my other blog where I tested the Fuji XT2 at our local Minnesota State Cyclocross race. I sure wish I had the EM1 Mark ii to shoot side by side, but it just isn't out yet.

I plan to rent the new EM1 Mark ii and new 12-100 and 25 f1.2 as soon as they are available together. I want to test that kit. Right now I am shooting the Fuji XT2 with the 16-55 and the 50-140 pro zooms. I think for what and how I shoot, the Olympus is a smaller, more versatile kit, but I think this Fuji combo has truly incredible output/IQ and speed.  With the battery grip and boost mode the Fuji is,  to date, the most capable mirrorless camera I have ever used for shooting sports.

So....My battle between Fuji and Olympus continues.  I'd love to hear your thoughts. I will certainly update and compare when I have them, and shoot them, side by side.
